Glass Replacement in Palo Alto

Need glass replacement in Palo Alto? Glass Depot Repair Bay Area serves Palo Alto and the rest of Santa Clara County from our San Jose base. New glass cut to exact spec — keep your frame, replace the glass. Tell us the neighborhood — Midtown, Barron Park, College Terrace or anywhere in Palo Alto — and what you see, and we’ll start with a free estimate.

We replace the common glass types: clear and tempered safety glass, energy-efficient insulated (dual-pane) units, low-E glass, obscure and frosted privacy glass, and laminated glass where sound or security matters. Where California’s safety-glazing or Title 24 energy rules apply to your opening, we tell you what the replacement has to meet.

Eichler panels, Professorville sash and University Avenue storefronts each need different glass; tell us the home or business, the neighborhood and the opening and we’ll explain what fits. Note that Palo Alto (Santa Clara County) and East Palo Alto (San Mateo County) are different cities — both are in our service area. For Palo Alto’s Historic Professorville & Old Palo Alto homes with wood sash and Midtown, Barron Park & College Terrace ranches, glass replacement means new glass measured to the actual opening, in the type the location calls for — tempered, laminated or insulated — with a free estimate first.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Exact measurement

We measure the opening and identify the glass type, thickness and coating the opening needs.

  2. 2

    Free estimate

You get a clear scope for the glass you actually need — clear vs. tempered vs. insulated vs. laminated.

  3. 3

    Cut to spec

The new pane is cut to the measurements taken at your opening, in the glass the location calls for — tempered, laminated or a low-E insulated unit.

  4. 4

    Professional install

On the return visit the pane goes in, the edges are sealed, and the window or door is run through its full travel before we pack up.

Questions

Glass Replacement in Palo Alto — FAQs

Yes — Palo Alto is in Santa Clara County, which is part of our listed Bay Area service area. We provide glass replacement for homes and businesses throughout Palo Alto. Call (800) 660-6970 with your address and what you see.

Visits are scheduled from our San Jose base. Give us the address, the opening and what happened; we’ll talk through repair versus replacement, give you a free estimate and agree on a time for the visit.

Yes — single-pane and insulated panels are measured individually and replaced to size, keeping the Eichler frames.

A dual-pane window that looks cloudy from inside has lost its edge seal: moist air has crept between the two panes and condensed where no cloth can reach it. It can’t be cleaned — the sealed unit has to be replaced. The answer is a new sealed unit made to the same size and set into the existing frame, so the view clears and the insulating gap works again.

Safety glazing (tempered or laminated glass) is required in some locations, such as doors, glass next to doors and large panes close to the floor. The required glass specification is confirmed for your opening before the glass is ordered.
