Glass Repair Questions, Answered
The things people ask before they call — answered straight.
We are based in San Jose and work across the Bay Area — from San Francisco to San Jose, on both sides of the Bay. Our listed service area covers Santa Clara, Alameda, San Mateo, San Francisco, Contra Costa, Marin and Santa Cruz counties. Call (800) 660-6970 with your city and we’ll confirm coverage for your address.
It depends on what actually failed. A worn roller, a loose latch or a failed seal is usually a repair. Shattered, badly cracked or foggy (failed-seal) glass is normally solved by replacing the glass while keeping the existing frame. Describe what you see when you call and we’ll talk through which path fits before any work is scheduled.
Estimates are free. Call with your city, the type of opening (window, sliding glass door, commercial glass), what you can see — cracks, fog, movement problems — and any measurements or product details you already have. Access details and a site contact help for commercial properties.
We are open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Call any time with your location and what needs attention and we’ll discuss the next step and availability for the work.
Fog or haze you cannot wipe away means the seal of an insulated (dual-pane) glass unit has failed and moisture is trapped inside. The sealed unit has to be replaced — usually within the existing frame — to get a clear, energy-efficient window again. Bay Area homes built from the 1970s onward have a lot of these units reaching the end of their seal life.
Yes. We provide residential glass services for houses, condos, apartments and HOAs, and commercial glass services for storefronts, offices, restaurants and managed properties across the Bay Area.
Often, yes. California requires safety glazing (tempered or laminated glass) in hazardous locations such as doors, bath enclosures and glass near the floor, and many replacement windows fall under the state’s Title 24 energy standards. We’ll tell you what applies to your opening when we discuss the work.
Please call before visiting to arrange service. We work on site at your home or business, and the San Jose address is the base we schedule visits from — call and we’ll arrange a visit to measure and discuss the glass you need.
